JIBE

   조화하다, 일치하다 / 남을 곤란하게 만들 (모욕적인) 말[험담]을 하다

  

  Her story doesn't jibe with what othr witnesses say.

  She jibed constantly at the way he ran his business.

  He jibed her about her weight.

  Unlike many other politicians, he refuses to indulge in cheap jibes at other people's expense.

QUASH

   불식시키다, 진정/진압하다, (판결 등을) 파기하다/폐기/무효화하다

  

  The Secretary of Defense tried to quash speculation that he was planning to resign following the disastrous military defeat.

  The company moved quickly to quash rumors that it is losing money.

  The revolt was swiftly quashed by government troops.

IMPOSTER

   사칭하는 사람, 사기꾼

  

  He claimed that he was an experienced pilot, but he turned out to be an imposter.

  The man who claimed to be a prince turned out to be an imposter.

  He felt like an imposter among all those intelligent people, as if he had no right to be there.

  * Imposter Syndrom(가면현상): a psychological pattern in which one doubts one's accomplishments and has a persistent internalized fear of being exposed as a 'fraud'. Those experiencing this phenomenon remain convinced that they are frauds, and do not deserve all they have achieved.
